Children's schooling, starting at the age of six to nineteen in the thirteenth grade, is called the K 12 education system. Learning a little from the background of this type of education system makes it easier to understand the whole concept of teaching.
The first grade preschool was created by a philosophical German teacher, named Friedrich Froebel, who wanted to make a place for young children to learn from their guidance and enable them to flourish with individual minds and initial education. This class was created long before the K 12 education system was followed and started in America in 1856. At that time, education and not all children were still required to access the school. Kindergarten was usually taught to eleven children who do not have to work in family farms.
In 1918, the Fisher Act helped shape the K12 education that is known today. The law began the recognition of education for children with special needs and raised the age to fourteen years when children can attend school. Following the law, special states have special rules regarding their education systems. Most high schools offered after the years are usually under the control of religious groups. In 1925, the Supreme Court granted either a public or private school for children.
After so many years, the states have established special education departments to care for children's children. Funding resources were also available from federal states, states and local sources.
K 12 education system has been established in 1950. Social status discrimination was obvious to have only children of elite may be schooling. Some social prejudices also arose as discrimination was common in public schools, but it was abolished in 1954.
Since then, the education system worked for most states. And in 2002, the No Child Left Behind Campaign was approved by President Bush, which allows parents to choose the school where they will send their children.
Many parents may have found K 12 not successful in their children's education and choosing other choice systems like home school and community schools. Some even have online teaching to educate their children. The only challenge in these options is the educational material for the children. But surprisingly, the government has become more eloquent about the learning opportunities since time has passed.
The government has been able to provide free education in public schools to children up to 12th grade. Private schools are usually expensive because parents need to pay for the education they need. Many of the children under the K 12 education system benefit from schools by moving out of themselves and skills. The system changes in time impossible due to constant changes in the socio-political atmosphere. What we know like now can be a radical change in decades.
